BDR mutineers started laying down their arms before Home Minister Sahara Khatun at Pilkhana at about 1:00am (today) Thursday after over 18 hours of the mutiny.
The home minister, who entered the BDR Headquarters at 11:55pm yesterday, was learned to have told a BTV reporter that the rebel BDR troops have started surrendering their weapons.
Sahara then went into the BDR officers’ homes and got their 5-6 families out. Later, the rescued family members were taken to police control room, the reporter said.
