9 hurt in BCL factional clash at DU

At least nine students were injured as two factional groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) locked in sporadic clashes over establishing supremacy at a dormitory of the Dhaka University (DU) early this morning. 


Witnesses said the clashes broke out around 12:30am at Ziaur Rahman Hall of the university between the activists of Jitu group and Salman group, two factions of the ruling Awami League's student wing BCL. 


They fought with iron rods and sticks, leaving at least nine injured.


The injured were rushed to different hospitals.


On information, police and BCL DU unit senior leaders reached the spot and take the situation under control.
