DHAKA, March 30 (Xinhua) -- The Bangladeshi government Monday granted another 30 more working days to the national probe committee on the Feb. 25-26 border guards mutiny to complete its task.
In a notification issued by the Home Ministry, the government Monday extended the investigation time after the 11-member committee sought more time on Sunday.
Members of the paramilitary border force Bangladesh Rifles (BDR)staged mutiny against their commanding officers deputed from the army at their headquarters in capital Dhaka on Feb. 25 morning.
The mutiny which ended on Feb. 26 morning left more than 70 people dead, mostly army officers.
The inquiry committee, formed in early March, missed the third deadline for submitting its report on Sunday, though it was initially supposed to complete the probe in seven days. Earlier, the government extended twice the probe time for the committee.
