DMC closed after BCL clashes

Star Online Report

The authorities today (Tuesday) closed the Dhaka Medical College (DMC) for an indefinite period following a series of clashes between two factions of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL).

The college authorities also asked the residential students to vacate the hall by 4:00pm today.

The college sources said two factions of the BCL last night were locked into clashes at Dr Fazle Rabbi Hall compound leaving at least 25 injured.

Sensing further clashes, the college authorities took the closure decision this morning.

Dr Kazi Din Mohammad, principal of the DMC, told The Daily Star that they took the decision to close the institution for an indefinite period to avoid any further clashes on the campus.
